On July 28th, our close friend Ms. Gargi Bose celebrated her late mother, smt. Manjula Bose’s birthday in a very meaningful way by setting up a Reading Corner for children at a government school. The setup is done at the school we started supporting recently, from June this year.
She has decided to set up a reading corner in one govt school every year on her mother’s birthday, in association with Aikya Trust. This initiative will significantly boost our effort to strengthen the foundational literacy skills in govt. schools. In addition, Gargi is sponsoring the education of several children.
Ms.Gargi visited all the three schools we are supporting and distributed stationery and snacks to the students. The children, in turn, expressed their gratitude by presenting her a beautiful piece of artwork.
