Aikya Trust organized a maths-english-science projects exhibition at Gummalapuram Panchayat school. This is the first time such an event was organized in the school. This provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talent. Hands-on learning, fostering creativity, building confidence and self-esteem were some of the key objectives of this initiative.
Supporting a rural school has a different set of challenges and addressing them is essential for us to stay focused on our main purpose of quality education. So through this event we also wanted to build a relationship with parents, residents, local officials and wider community. Community and parents involvement will help us to effectively tackle some of the common issues (typical in rural schools) related to sanitation facilities, irregular water supply, inadequate transportation to school, low attendance, lack of parental involvement etc.
Our school teachers and volunteers have done a wonderful job on successful execution of the event and they have been relentlessly working with the students on projects.
