We had a parent-teacher meeting at our adopted govt higher primary school, Old Anekal, Bengaluru in the first week of January. When we had the first PTM in July 2024, we had just 14 parents attending the PTM. Many being daily wage workers, they go to work by 8/8:30 am and cannot afford to miss that. To address the issue and seek feedback from parents, we conducted the next 2 PTMs on Sundays, when they have weekly off. We had a counselling desk to make them understand the importance of attending PTM, discussing the child’s progress and how they can support/participate in their child’s learning. Based on their feedback, now we start PTM as easy as 7 am on Saturdays to ensure maximum participation. For the last 2-3 PTMs, now we are seeing a consistent count of 150-160 parents, which is 60% participation. We are confident that this will continue to improve as we progress
