Project Arohana: Empowering Underprivileged Children Through Quality Education
Overview:
Project Arohana is our dedicated school-level engagement program designed to provide quality education to underprivileged children attending government schools in South Bangalore. Currently, the program is supporting three government schools, benefiting over 400 students.
Objectives:
- Strengthen Foundational Skills: Enhance literacy, numeracy, and language skills, with a specific focus on phonics and activity-based learning to build a strong academic foundation.
- Promote Experiential Learning: Foster curiosity and innovation through application-based, hands-on learning experiences.
- Comprehensive Academic Support: Cover key subjects such as Maths, Science, and English, ensuring holistic academic growth for all children.
Rationale:
Foundational literacy, numeracy, and language skills are critical not only for individual success but also for the broader economy and society. By improving these skills, we aim to achieve immediate outcomes such as enhanced self-esteem, increased confidence, and reduced school dropout rates. Long-term, we hope, these skills will contribute to higher employability, reduced inequality, and a decrease in social challenges like exploitation and crime.
