Anekal-Gummalapuram Survey 2025

For the upcoming academic year 2025-26 admission, we have been doing extensive surveys in many deprived localities of Anekal, Bengaluru and Gummalapuram village for the past one and a half months.

Many daily wage workers are unable to send their children to school in early years due to various reasons, which leads to a significant learning gap in children. The aim of the survey was to identify such underprivileged children who are not going to school and missing formal education. We did door-to-door surveys in sheds of brick factories, slum localities, migrant labour colonies and also visited local fruit-vegetable markets and few Anganwadis, ensuring that we reach out to the most needy section of the society.

We had to do all these surveys on Sundays as this is the only day of the week when daily wage workers will be available in sheds. Immensely proud of our Aikya teachers and core team, who have been visiting sheds to counsel parents and get children to school, sacrificing their weekends for the social cause.

Subsequently, we organized the first formal counselling session with few parents and managed to get 28 admissions. Counselling sessions with remaining parents will continue in batches, till May end. We are hoping to get 50-60 more children to the school for AY 25-26.
